Today, sucked.

You and Ludwig had been continuing with the lessons for almost a month now, and several of the teachers and even your father commented on your positive upturn in mood. Though the thought of some guy being the cause of your pleasing change was rather strange for you, you really couldn't deny that it was true.

Ludwig actually made you happy.

Not to say that you were depressed before, because you weren't. Though you weren't exactly a yippy skippy person either.

You started off the morning in a better mood than usual, and even wore some clothes that, well, actually fit. It wasn't like you didn't enjoy wearing fitting clothes, but you'd much rather wear a pair of big jeans with a belt and big t-shirt than skinny jeans with a fitting tank top. Today however, you decided to change it up a bit.

You wore a pair of white pants that fit you rather nicely, and a violet top that hugged your middle. You admired yourself in the mirror for a moment in satisfaction before dashing out to the bus stop. You yelled some some sort of jumbled goodbye to your father in your hurry.

Ludwig was nowhere to be found during school. You assumed he had missed the bus stop and needed to walk, but even so he didn't show up- much to your disappointment, though you'd never admit it to anyone else.

Especially not him. He'd never let you live it down.

Nothing really out of the ordinary really occurred that day, until you were on your usual walk home from the bus stop. You were normally accompanied by Ludwig, but his absence continued to follow you throughout your schedule. You shouldered your backpack higher onto your shoulder and picked up the pace, debating on stopping by Ludwig's house to see what was up.

Other footsteps behind you caused you to stiffen up and almost stop completely. A short laugh escaped your lips, and you shook your head. No one had given you much trouble lately, why should you worry? The reaction was almost second nature, you supposed.

"Hey _____, where's your boyfriend?" A taunting male drawl called. The familiar pit in your stomach formed, but you weren't going to let them get to you this time. You rolled your eyes and didn't bother to turn around.

"He isn't my boyfriend, now leave me alone." You muttered stiffly before continuing down the sidewalk to your street. The footsteps behind you didn't cease, or grow fainter, which meant that Michael was still behind you. You debated running, but considering the fact that you weren't really a fast runner, you continued you even pace. The heavy thumping of his footsteps rang in your attentive hearing.

The pacing started to sound uneven, almost like he had grown another leg.

Before you realized what was going on, your back was shoved lightly and your body lurched forward. Your arms shot out to keep what little balance you had right before you caught yourself. You narrowed your eyes and whirled around to face him-

Well. Them. There were now two more guys you vaguely recognized from school, and you were fairly certain that they didn't ride your bus. They snickered at the pink in your cheeks and the suddenly ragged breathing.

"Touch me again and I will hang all of you by your testicles." You growled. Squaring your shoulders, you balled your hands into fists and gave your best bitch glare, hoping it'd make them go away. The three buffoons just laughed and took a few steps closer.

You made a split decision and ran.

In an instant your breathing was coming in short gasps, and the hair you had done so nicely that morning whipped around your face. The three of them chased after you like a cruel game of cat and mouse, yet you were determined to get to your house before they could grab you.

'No I can't go to my house, it'd worry my dad' you thought miserably. Instead of dashing you your own home, you made a bee line for Ludwig's house. Sure he'd probably get pissed at you for showing up unannounced, but he could get over it.

Unfortunately, the creeps could run faster than you, and one of them managed to get ahold of your shirt. A loud scream left your lips when they jerked you backwards and onto the damp sidewalk from the rainfall that afternoon.

Your head hit the concrete hard. You weren't sure if the crack that rang in your ears was as loud to them, but it sure caught their attention. Their faces paled when they looked down at you, and in an instant, they bolted from the scene.

"Dick heads," you whimpered. You used your elbows to prop yourself up, and tried to blink the black spots from your eyes. Somehow, you managed to get up into an unsteady standing position, and walked the rest of the way to Ludwig's house. Your body collapsed against the brick wall next to the door right when it was thrown open.

"What zhe hell?!" A loud, unfamiliar German voice yelled in shock. You furrowed your brow and crossed your eyes unpleasantly, letting out a low moan. Your head was still pounding and the black spots in your vision were growing in size, until there was more black than scenery.

Your mouth went slack in an attempt to say something, but any sort of hold you had on the wall has slipped.

"Shiße!" The man yelped, before reaching down just in time to get his arms up under your middle. "Does zhis happen on a regular basis?!"

Your eyes shut and everything went dark.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Gilbert struggled to keep hold of the unconscious child as well as open the door to his home. Once inside, he laid her down on the couch and hurried over to grab a towel from in the bathroom. When he found one he ran it under the sink until it was completely soaked, and returned to the child.

"Zhis is totally unawesome," me muttered under his breath. With a small examination, he found the spot that was injured, which just so happened to be her head.
A pit formed in Gilbert's stomach when he began to fully see the blood coating a layer of her hair.

Luckily, the Awesome Gilbert was totally trained in first aid, so after a but of struggling, he managed to get the bandage fully around her head.

The door from upstairs opened, and the familiar heavy footsteps of his younger brother joined the noises in the house.

"Bruder, I zhink ve're out of- WHAT ZHE HELL?!" Ludwig's deep voice rang out in alarm when he noticed _____'s figure strewn out on the couch. Her bandaged head was resting in Gilbert's lap.

"Yeah, that's exactly what I said." Gilbert said with slight concern, his head flicked back down to look at the girl. His to tongue switched back to German.

"How did she get this way, did you see who did it?" Ludwig prompted in German, following his brother's change in language. He was wearing only a towel, and leaned over the bannister of the stairs like his life depended on it. Gilbert raised an eyebrow.

"No, and why do you seem to care so much. Do you know this girl?"

"Yeah, she's the girl I told you about, the one that comes over for German lessons." Ludwig explained. "Her name is _____, she lives down the street."

"Oh," Gilbert said, leaning his head to check on the bandage. "You've found a pretty one."

"Gilbert she doesn't think of me like that." Ludwig contradicted. Even from downstairs, Gilbert could see the pink tint in Ludwig's cheeks.

"What.. Who the hell are you?" A raspy voice came from down in Gilbert's lap, and he looked down just in time to see one of _____'s (e/c) eyes slide open.  "Where am I?"

"I am your awesome knight in shining armor, _____." Gilbert said with a smirk. "You might know me as zhe Awesome Gilbert."

_____ groaned in realization.

Gilbert let out a loud laugh.

"So you have heard of me!"

The snowy-haired man looked up at Ludwig with a grin, only to see a look of horror on his usually stern face. His cheeks were a dark crimson, and he rushed to his room, making sure to slam the door shut behind him. Gilbert snickered.

_____ lifter herself up into a sitting position and carefully rubbed the bandaged area of the back of her head. She turned over to look at him, and gave a sleepy grin.

"Thanks for not leaving me outside, Gilbert."

"It vas not a problem, Frau. Zhe awesome me is glad to help." Ludwig's albino brother practically shouted at you. You cracked a smile, and despite the pounding headache, you felt pretty much fine.

After a moment it grew quiet, and you weren't exactly sure what to say. You rested your hands on your lap and looked quietly around before a thought popped into your aching head.

"Where's Ludwig? You asked casually, "he didn't show up to school today. Is he sick?"

"Nein, Ludwig doesn't get sick, he's German!" Gilbert exclaimed, as if it were obvious. "No one related to me gets sick. He's upstairs getting dressed, because he just took a shower. Isn't zhat right, Nudey Luddy?"

The last bit of his question was called loud enough for the half naked blonde man to hear.

"Nudey Luddy?" You repeated before snorting in laughter. Gilbert joined you in laughing,  before the two of you heard something loud being thrown against the door. You smirked.

"Oh ja." Gilbert chuckled. "I helped take care of him, you know. Vhenever mutti or vatti needed me to help change him, I vould say "Arms up, Nudey Luddy!" Und he vould grin und raise his arms."

"That is adorable!" You exclaimed, biting your lip to keep back another wave of laughter. "I can't picture him being so.."

"Goofy?" Gilbert finished. "Vell, I've actually got some baby pictures in zhe other room if you-"

"NEIN!"

The sound of Ludwig's hostile voice rang out through the house and he practically barreled down the stairs in front of them. He was wearing a simple green t-shirt and jeans, and his hair hung messily in his face.

"You vill not show her any pictures of me zhat you posess!" He continued, pointing a finger at his grinning brother. "Zhat's completely uncalled for!"

"Uncalled for, but hilarious." Gilbert corrected, and in an instant he was off of the couch and running into his room, laughing the whole time.

Ludwig looked like he would have chased his brother down, but seemed to decide better of it and sat down next to you with a huff. With one hand he massaged his temples, his icy blue eyes tightly shut.

"So.." You started awkwardly. "You weren't at school today,"

Way to state the obvious.

"Ja." Lidwig stated bluntly. "Mein bruder came to visit early, und I decided to take zhe day off to see him."

"Well. That's fun." You mumbled. You lifted your hand up to rub the bandages that Gilbert had put on around your head, only for your wrist to be grabbed by Ludwig.

"Ouch, rude." You growled, eyeing him irritably. He flashed you an apologetic look before pulling your hand back down into his lap, while he examined the bandages himself.

You mentally rolled your eyes, but said nothing.

"Who did this?" He snapped after a moment, his eyes still glued to the back of your head. "_____, tell me who did it."

"Ugh I don't even know." You muttered, leaning your head forward and craning your neck to look over at him. "Michael and a few other guys I think." Ludwig gave an intelligible grunt, and gently pulled your head back to examine it further.

"How's it looking, Mr. Testosterone?" You asked sarcastically. You jerked your head away and turned to face him with obvious annoyance in your expression. Then you realized his left hand was lightly holding your upper neck, and his right hand was still holding yours.

All the blood that hadn't leaked out of your minor head injury suddenly rushed to your cheeks.

"I'll make sure zhat never happens again." Ludwig stated simply, his hand giving yours a squeeze. You shifted uncomfortably in the position the two of you were in- his head was barely a few inches from yours!

"LOOK VHAT I'VE FOUND- Oh."

Gilbert's obnoxious voice rang through your head, and you nearly fell off the couch in surprise. Ludwig's hands dropped down to his sides, and any sort of look that may have been on his face was replaced with the usual stone mask.

"Vas I interrupting anyzhing?" Gilbert asked with a knowing smirk. "I can alvays go back to my room, I've got cable in zhere."

Ha! Knew they had to have some sort of Tv!

"Nein, you veren't interrupting anyzhing." Ludwig said quickly, his cheeks slightly pink as well. Then, his eyes noticed the box of pictures in Gilbert's hands.

"Actually, ja, you vere. Go back to your room."

You whipped your head around to look at Ludwig incredulously to see the blonde German fold his arms and give his brother an almost pleading look.

"Vhatever. Zhe awesome me is going to take an awesome nap." Gilbert decided. He stooped down to set the box of pictures on the floor, waggled his eyebrows in your direction, and walk back into his room, still chuckling.

"Nudey Luddy, huh?"

"Shut up."

You snickered and lightly punched him on the upper arm. Leaning over a bit, you let your head rest against Ludwig's shoulder. A little smile formed on your lips when he rested his own head against your own.

"Ludwig?" You asked quietly, looking down at your hands that had been fiddling with the fabric of your shirt.

"Ja?" Ludwig prompted in a strangely quiet voice.

"I wanna see the pictures," you said quickly. The words had just left your mouth when you sprang to your feet and made a lunge for the box, before his unfortunately long arms managed to grab you from behind, and struggle to get your fighting body back onto the couch.

"Frau you're going to need to fight better than that if you honestly expect to win." He sighed. With one tug he had you back on the couch, much closer to each other than you had been before. "It's not much of a fight."

"Than why don't you teach me how?" You inquired with a smirk. The idea of actually learning how to defend yourself had been one you thought of for quite a while. And here you had a robust German, totally capable of teaching you.

Ludwig quickly shook his head and folded his arms across his chest in the universal 'no'

Or was it nein?

"Nein. I'm not going to lay a hand on you, even if it is to teach you self defense. Find yourself a different teacher."

"What? That's so stupid, Ludwig I know you're not actually going to hurt me!" You protested. "Don't you want me to be able to defend myself?"

Ludwig gave you a strange look.

"I do." He agreed, "but if zhere's any chance of me hurting you in zhe process, I vill avoid it. I care about you vay too much."

That sure shut you up.

"I.. I care about you too." You murmured, dropping his hardened gaze completely to look down at your hands.

"OH MEIN GOTT JUST KISS HER ALREADY BEFORE I EXPLODE! SHIßE!"

The two of you turned towards the door that the thoroughly annoyed voice had emerged from, then back to each other. Ludwig's scarlet cheeks matched your own.

You almost opened your mouth to say something, but Ludwig leaned forward and crashed his lips down onto your extremely surprised ones. Everything in your head went blank, but suddenly it felt like your entire body was tingling. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he did the same around your waist, pulling you tighter.

Once you two parted lips, a smile spread across your lips, mirroring the one on Ludwig's  own.

"Vell zhat vas easier zhan I zhought it vould be." He noted, emitting a low chuckle and pulling you back into a tight hug. You were far too immersed in your own blissful haze to think of a witty remark. You just clung tighter to him for the moment, nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck.

"VELL IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME."

Gilbert smirked to himself as he lounged across the couch. Finally, his younger brother had found a girl that he could actually stand to be around, let alone have a full on conversation with! The two of them had left a few minutes ago, with Ludwig insisting on walking her home like the little Gentlemen he is.

It almost brought awesome tears to Gilbert's awesome eyes. Almost.

Once the door opened again, Ludwig kicked off his boots and pulled off his coat before sitting next to his Albino brother, a small smile still plastered to his face.

"You really like her don't you?" Gilbert asked with a smirk. "Much more than something normal."

"Yes I do," Ludwig agreed. "I don't even know how the hell she did it, but she did."

"Women have that weird effect on us. It'd be best to move again before she had you go shopping with her or something."

Ludwig let out a rare laugh that only Gilbert himself was accustomed to hearing. "I don't think she's the type for that, Brother. Also, what was that you gave her right before she left? She insists its nothing but I highly doubt that.

"Oh nothing. Just a diaper picture of you when you were a baby." Gilbert said in a sing song voice. Ludwig paled.

"Shiße, Gilbert!"
Hey guys! Sorry I've been so inactive, it's totally unawesome. School is just beating the crap out of me, and I'm having trouble keeping up with everything as well as my fanfictionn writing. I promise that I'm not giving up on any of the projects I'm working on.

Also, I haven't proofread this, so there's probably a lot of autocorrect errors. Just let me know if you notice one ^_^
